Vision and Mission

Vision and Mission

Community World Service Asia adheres to the belief that all communities, irrespective of race, faith, color, sex, economic status and political stands have the right to choose how to live. Inspired by this nobility of human spirit, the organisation undertakes its development and relief initiatives in partnership with rights-based and secular organizations, predominantly aiming to assist the communities in improving the quality of their life by enhancing their access to basic rights such as clean drinking water, food, health, shelter, education among others and encouraging them to participate in the development process. We respect the knowledge and values of communities and believe that developmental efforts must recognise the importance of culture as a political force. At the same time, it is vital to understand that the individuality of cultures may be used as an argument to extend the power of people/groups at the expense of others.

Vision

A community that is:

  • Interdependent
  • Equal
  • Peaceful
  • Resilient
  • Just
  • Fair

Mission

Community World Service Asia as a non-governmental organization aims to address factors that set people apart by celebrating inclusiveness, shared values, diversity, and interdependence. Marginalized communities are assisted irrespective of race, faith, color, age, sex, economic status, or political opinion. Respecting the right to choose how to live, we work with marginalized communities in order for them to overcome inequality and lead dignified, peaceful, and resilient lives.
